How to cure a fungus

Fungi or mycoses bloom in warm, humid places. Therefore, the human body is best suited for the life of entire colonies of various fungi. Hygiene, healthy food, sports and strong immunity protect us from parasites, but does it always?

Possible causes

  1. Tight, uncomfortable shoes. The constant debate in tight shoes leads to bacteria multiplying rapidly from sweat and dust. They stay on your feet, inside your shoes, on your toes, and on the floor you’ve been on. So the "bouquet" spreads throughout the house and gets on the "new" clean feet of your household.
  2. Bad shoe material, non-ventilated fabric or dermantine. The same effect as "suffocation" of the legs as in tight but beautiful shoes.
  3. Ignoring hygiene in public places. Never walk barefoot in the steam room, pool, showers and sauna. Disposable slippers do not protect against slipping on the pots, but primarily against the exchange of foreign bacteria.
  4. Personal belongings. Do not rent socks, towels, tights, shoes, knee highs, manicure sets to yourself or anyone else. Use clean nylon socks in the cleanliness room.
  5. Immune problems. Weak or temporarily weakened immunity is not able to cope well with viral and fungal attacks. These include the diagnosis of diabetes, AIDS, psoriasis, varicose veins, vascular disease and obesity.
  6. Failure to follow the rules of foot hygiene. Wash it daily with soap, change socks, cut your nails once a week. Wash your shoes every few weeks or longer.
  7. Corn, calluses, cracks, excessive sweating. Improper treatment or lack thereof, neglect of care and hygiene for painful foci.

Signs by stages of development

Often, the external manifestations of the fungus are absent, do not cause attention, or do not disturb the patient. It is important to identify symptoms as soon as possible and consult a doctor.

  1. First stage: blurred or slight.
    • exfoliation of the skin of the foot, especially between the toes;
    • the appearance of blisters on the skin of the fingers that rupture and cause discomfort;
    • small wounds or cracks at the site of the blisters;
    • bad smell;
    • changes in nail structure, color, and thickness; yellow spots, whitish streaks, thickening and porosity of the plate.

    More often than not, the fungus chooses the thumb, which infects everyone. Most men are sick: sweating is increased, so the feet are at high risk of developing the disease.

  2. Second stage: squamous cell hyperkeratotic.
  3. The feet itch, the skin between the toes is covered with a white crust, there is an increasing burning sensation. It becomes impossible to ignore anxiety.

  4. Third stage: intertriginal.
  5. Mycosis penetrates deep into the epidermis: the skin between the fingers becomes inflamed, moist and peeling. Open painful wet wounds and cracks remain. They leak and hurt. It becomes almost impossible to walk. The focus of inflammation has clearly defined edges.

  6. Fourth stage: dyshidrotic.
  7. The skin of the foot is completely affected. Blisters and blisters cover the legs and crack from fluid. It is impossible to move, the wounds are very sore and itchy.

Nail treatment is long - 1-2 months if the symptoms appeared in the first stage and a dermatologist helped in time. Neglected forms, even the strongest therapy, cannot heal quickly.

Therapies

Treatment can only be decided after the diagnosis has been confirmed. For example, leg exfoliation is typical of seasonal dermatitis. Taken on the fingernails of big toes and treated with vinegar at home, the skin suffers twice. And improvement will not happen.

Traditional methods are good in the early stages or as adjunctive therapy. Doctors warn that home remedies only remove external manifestations. Relapse certainly occurs when the immune system is weakened. Medication is suitable for all stages.

Medicine

The doctor uses complex treatment:

  • antifungal ointments, foams, creams and tablets;
  • solutions and "conversation" of pharmacy making;
  • immunostimulants and vitamins.

The laser is becoming more popular. The process is primarily for the plate and no tablet is required. There are contraindications to treatment (pregnancy, lactation, oncology, skin damage), so it is not a universal method and is expensive.

In advanced form, antifungal drugs are changed several times per course due to the drug's dependence on the active ingredient. Affected nails are removed in a hospital. The legs regularly soar and clean the bark, the flaky skin if it is not a neglected type (no open wounds).

Household and leisure footwear is either well disinfected or discarded. The socks are washed, boiled and ironed at the maximum allowable temperature. During the treatment, hand out all the linens, clothes you have touched with your feet, and shower accessories. Wash them thoroughly after use to avoid re-infection.
